New Jersey Ballet brings its family-friendly showcase “Once Upon a Time” to Mayo Performing Arts Center on March 6, 2027, and it’s genuinely built for people who’ve never sat through a full classical ballet and weren’t sure they wanted to. A live orchestra backs excerpts from Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and more, while a narrator walks the audience through the stories, characters, and choreography. There’s even audience participation woven in, so kids have something to do besides whisper-ask how much longer.
