Family Photo Scavenger: Blossoms & Butterflies

@ Frelinghuysen Arboretum

June is peak butterfly season, and what better place to spot these incredible insects than an arboretum? Bring your family and see all the colors a butterfly can be — and the flowers that support them. Finish the scavenger hunt and get a prize.

June is peak butterfly season, and Frelinghuysen Arboretum is about as good a place as any to prove that to your kids with photographic evidence. The scavenger hunt runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 28, sending families around the grounds to photograph blossoms and butterflies in all their colors. Finish the whole hunt and you’ll walk away with a prize, which is more than most Sunday errands offer. Bring your phone, your most competitive child, and a reasonable tolerance for stopping every three feet because someone spotted a swallowtail.
