Family Photo Scavenger: Blossoms & Butterflies

@ Frelinghuysen Arboretum

June is peak butterfly season, and what better place to spot these incredible insects than an arboretum? Bring your family and see all the colors a butterfly can be — and the flowers that support them. Finish the scavenger hunt and get a prize.

June is peak butterfly season, and Frelinghuysen Arboretum is about as good a place as any to prove that to a skeptical seven-year-old. This self-guided photo scavenger hunt has families tracking down butterflies and the flowers that feed them, cameras in hand, on Monday June 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Finish the whole hunt and you walk away with a prize, which is a better return on effort than most things we cover. Bring your phone, your kids, and a reasonable tolerance for stopping every thirty seconds because someone spotted a monarch.
