Family Photo Scavenger: Blossoms & Butterflies

@ Frelinghuysen Arboretum

June is peak butterfly season, and what better place to spot these incredible insects than an arboretum? Bring your family and see all the colors a butterfly can be — and the flowers that support them. Finish the scavenger hunt and get a prize.

June is peak butterfly season, and Frelinghuysen Arboretum is about as good a place as any to prove that to your kids. The scavenger hunt runs daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting June 7: grab a list, photograph the blossoms and butterflies you find, and finish the whole thing for a prize. Bring your camera, your most competitive child, and the patience to explain why that brown one counts as a butterfly. The Morris County Parks listing has the full details, including anything about registration or cost that we, a small local guide with a complicated relationship with the Frelinghuysen parking lot, weren’t able to confirm.
