Family Photo Scavenger: Blossoms & Butterflies
June is peak butterfly season, and what better place to spot these incredible insects than an arboretum? Bring your family and see all the colors a butterfly can be — and the flowers that support them. Finish the scavenger hunt and get a prize.
June is peak butterfly season, and Frelinghuysen Arboretum is about as good a place as any to prove it. This drop-in scavenger hunt runs daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting June 1, so you can bring the kids on a Monday when every other activity is mysteriously closed. The goal: photograph blossoms and butterflies, work through the hunt, and collect a prize at the end. Bring your phone, your most competitive eight-year-old, and the patience to stand very still while a monarch decides whether your jacket is a flower. Check the Morris County Parks listing for registration details and cost.
