Grab a scavenger hunt booklet, wander the Children’s Room, and track down 12 hidden pictures tucked around the stacks. Each one you find gets a page folded in your booklet, and when you’ve spotted all 12, bring it back to the Children’s Desk for a prize. It runs all day July 10 (and continues July 11 and 12), so there’s no scrambling to arrive at a precise minute. Open to children and teens, and the whole thing is self-paced, which is either relaxing or a little too much freedom depending on your kid.
