The Morristown & Morris Township Library’s Chess Club meets the first and third Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Reference Room of the 1917 Wing. All skill levels are welcome, though this isn’t a beginner’s class, so you’ll need to know your way around a board before you show up. Bring your own chess set and time clock, and come ready for friendly but earnest competition. In the summer, meetings move to the front lawn, weather permitting. It’s free to attend, and it’s a good excuse to finally put those opening gambits to use against someone who isn’t a phone app.
