Bruce Hornsby first rose to national prominence with The Way It Is, his 1986 Grammy-winning debut album with The Range. His work reflects a creative iconoclasm that’s been a constant throughout his career, whether that’s being a part-time member of the Grateful Dead, or collabora…

Bruce Hornsby has been making music that defies easy categorization since “The Way It Is” became the most-played song on American radio in 1987, and he’s still at it. The 13-time Grammy nominee spent a stretch as a part-time Grateful Dead member, lent his piano to Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” and has collaborated with everyone from Bob Dylan to Bon Iver. This show at Mayo PAC on July 24 at 8 p.m. will pull from across that career, plus material from his new album, Indigo Park. Tickets run $45 to $101, and Mayo PAC notes those prices already include all service fees.
