Before the Constitution: The Federalist Papers
Morris County Historical Society and Morris County Heritage Commission are pleased to present a Revolutionary Lecture Series to celebrate the rich and vast history that makes Morris County so special. Join us for a series of 12 lectures that will cover topics from our area’s role…
Part of the Morris County Historical Society’s 12-lecture Revolutionary Lecture Series, this evening session puts the Federalist Papers under the microscope. Dr. Jude Pfister, a constitutional historian and former Chief of Cultural Resources at Morristown National Historical Park, walks through how those 85 essays, written to nudge New York voters into ratifying the Constitution, became the go-to guide for understanding what the founders were actually thinking. It’s free, it runs on Zoom, and pre-registration is required. Check the source listing at Morristown Green for the registration link before you try to just show up and wing it.
