Doors open at 9:15 AM on Tuesday, March 9, and by 10:00 the Morris Museum’s Breakfast University series takes on one of history’s most mythologized figures. NYU historian Matthew Stanley, who literally wrote the book on Einstein and World War I, argues that the wild-haired icon we all picture is a construction, shaped as much by Zionism, rising fascism, and media appetite as by physics. The Einstein you’ll leave with is somehow both radical and old-fashioned, which is a more interesting combination than a poster on a dorm room wall. Tickets go on sale to the general public July 20, with members getting early access starting July 13. Check the Morris Museum site for pricing.
