A Musket at the Dinner Table
<!--td {border: 1px solid #cccccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> Thomas DeVoe, a retired Mt. Olive history teacher, will offer a perspective on life as a soldier in the Revolutionary War, based on over a decade of research into the experiences of his own ancestors.
Thomas DeVoe spent more than a decade digging into his own family tree and came up with something better than a genealogy chart: a first-person window into what Revolutionary War soldiers actually ate, carried, and endured. The retired Mt. Olive history teacher brings that research to the Morristown Library’s Meeting Room on Tuesday, October 27 at 7:00 p.m., in a talk that runs until 8:00 p.m. It’s free to attend (the library page doesn’t say otherwise), and if you’ve ever wondered what dinner looked like when a musket was leaning against the wall, this is probably your best Tuesday night option in town.
