Second graders with a taste for mystery, this one’s for you. “Fabio the World’s Greatest Flamingo Detective: The Case of the Missing Hippo” follows Fabio, a slight, pink, very clever flamingo detective, and his giraffe associate Gilbert (terrible at disguises, apparently) as they try to track down Julia, a jazz-singing hippopotamus who’s gone missing from a hotel talent contest. Read the book, then come to the F.M. Kirby Gallery on Wednesday, July 22 at 6:00 p.m. to talk it over. The session runs just 30 minutes, registration is required, and copies are waiting for you in the Children’s Room. This one’s for kids entering second grade in the fall.
