South + Pine is chef Leia Gaccione’s small storefront a block past the Green on upper South Street. Gaccione spent years in chef Marc Forgione’s kitchens before opening here, and the menu shows it: a tight seasonal American lineup that turns over often.

The room is BYOB. Weekend brunch is the headliner, with chicken and waffles and a stack of biscuit sandwiches that locals plan their Saturday around. Counter ordering for brunch; reservations help on weekend dinners.
